New Leaf is the promotion of Christian books in St George’s. Several times a year we recommend Christian books that can help our Christian growth, at our own pace. They will be available for sale in church at discounted rates and are available on audible. Please check this page regularly to find out what books are on offer.
Please contact Martin Fox if you would like to:
• Find a book on a specific subject
• Make a recommendation of a Christian book.
With the summer holidays fast approaching, we hope that you will include these books in your summer reading.
A Knock at the Door by Rob Parsons – £9
Rob Parsons is best known for being the Founder of ‘Care for the Family’
Lesser known is the story of a homeless man who knocked on his door one Christmas Eve, holding a frozen chicken.
Such an entrancing…and challenging story.
Serving without sinking by John Hindley – £8
If you are a volunteer in the church, you will inevitably feel at times that you are exhausted, unrecognised, making no difference, …and that service is drudgery, but…it doesn’t have to be this way.
Find a different way to enjoy serving both God and your church.
Beautiful Outlaw by John Etheridge – £10
A very different perspective on Jesus. All too often Christianity is seen as dull and boring, yet Jesus was far from being dull. After all, He created fun and laughter and went to wedding celebrations and parties.
This book is a refreshing look at the humanity of Jesus, without taking anything away from His Lordship.
What an enjoyable read.
Return of the Prodigal Son by Paul Hunt – £10
This is the autobiography of our own Paul, with the story of how God has turned his turbulent life around since he became a Christian. If you haven’t read it yet, now is the time.
