Martyn Taylor

Rector

Martyn has served at St George’s since 1996 and been the Rector since 2003. He is married to Philippa and they have three children at the student/post student stage. Martyn leads An SDF church revitalisation project from St George’s with a vision to resource church growth in Spalding and Grantham in south Lincolnshire. He is currently rural dean of Stamford, a member of  General Synod and a canon of Lincoln Cathedral. Martyn enjoys classical music  and following the exploits of AFC Bournemouth.

Clare Arthey

Operations Manager

Clare joined the staff team in June 2018 in the role of Operations Manager after many years working in industry. She is responsible for overseeing all the activities and operations that will facilitate the smooth running of St George’s church, the Hub office team, HR, church policies and compliance. Clare has been at St George’s for 27 years where she has been a volunteer in Youth and Children’s ministry since the 90s.

Mark Beckett

Youth Worker

Mark joined the team in November 2019 and is our full-time youth worker. He has completed his degree in applied theology in youth studies. Mark moved to Stamford 5 years ago, originally joining the team as an intern. He is married to Abi and also has Bella and Boo, his 4-legged friends to keep him busy. Mark enjoys all sports, particularly football and the F1.

Joseph Caseley

Ministry Assistant

Joseph joined the staff team in 2016. He is originally from Stamford and returned to the town after studying Theology and Evangelism at university. Prior to that he completed a certificate in Christian Youth Ministry (JNC Youth Support Worker) with the Diocese of Peterborough. When time allows he enjoys watching a good TV drama and spending time with friends.

Phil Chand

Fresh Hope Caseworker

Phil joined the staff team in 2024 having previously worked in the Civil Service and more recently as a key worker in a homeless hostel. Phil is married to Debbie and they have been worshiping at St Georges for two years. Phil enjoys visiting record shops as well as listening to music, watching films and walking.

Liz Fell

Parish Safeguarding Officer

Liz is part of the St George’s Church family with her husband Simon and their two children and is involved in various aspects of St George’s. Liz works as a criminal barrister and enjoys running and athletics.

Becky Goff

Church Administrator

Becky joined the staff team in October 2018. She has had a varied career in administration which has included working in central and local government, charities, inner London schools and the private sector. She has been married to Colin for 28 years. Becky moved to Stamford in 2011 from London but spent most of her childhood and early adulthood in mid Norfolk.  Prior to joining St George’s she led a project to develop and improve the All Saints’ Church Centre for community use. In her free time she enjoys photography, walking and reading.

Jess Hackett

Worship and Media Team Leader

Jess expresses a deep call to leading God’s people in worship. She became a Christian at 9, her worship leading ministry began shortly after in her local church’s youth band. She is a gifted musician and song writer (having a degree in Songwriting) with an evangelistic heart and sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading. Jess also brings technical audio-visual skills to help us facilitate our worship week by week. She has been part of the worship team at various local churches, including Gas Street where she was part of the Student Worship team.

Simon Jary

CAP Centre Manager

Simon has been on the church staff since October 2011 when he became the manager of the Christians Against Poverty (CAP) centre. He is married to Jayne, a primary school teacher, and lives in Spalding.  He has three children and four young grandchildren. Apart from his passion to help those struggling with debt he also travels around the east region presenting about CAP’s ministries to agencies. He is a lifelong fan of Tottenham Hotspur and enjoys trying to keep fit at a local gym. He also enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Deb Jones

Pastoral Worker

Debs joined the staff team as Pastoral Worker in July 2016 having previously worked as a counsellor in private practice.  She is married to Phil and they have 2 grown up children.  Debs has a heart to see people saved, healed and delivered.  She enjoys music, reading, long walks in the countryside and charity shops.

Simon Johnson

Treasurer

Simon has worked in the City of London for over 30 years in a number of roles, all of which are linked to helping hospitality companies grow and finance themselves. He and Rachel (and their now grown-up two children) have been at St George’s as visitors and members since before they were married 30 years ago. When not talking to pub and brewing companies he likes to sample their products and try to match their skills in the kitchen.

Jacob Kutschera

Trainee Youth Worker

Jacob is our trainee youth worker here at St Georges while studying Theology, ministry, and mission at Ridley Hall. Previously he has done a gap year at CROPS which is a youth work charity in Peterborough and this introduction to ministry led him to want to deepen his faith so he can serve God better. In the everyday you can find him playing electric guitar or drums depending on how loud he’s feeling.

Anna Mayo

Curate

Anna joined St Georges fresh from theological training at Trinity College, Bristol. She was ordained at Lincoln Cathedral in June 2024 and will be with us for a minimum of three years to serve her curacy. Anna has a passion for Scripture, discipleship and community and longs to see people transformed by the Word of God by the power of the Holy Spirit. She has a varied and creative background and has experience leading and growing teams. Anna lives alone and is enjoying getting to know Stamford, with all the beauty that it has to offer!

Gordon McKechnie

Churchwarden

Gordon joined the St George’s Church family in 2016, when he moved to Stamford with his wife Joan and their two young children. Gordon works within the agricultural sector, an area he’s been involved in for the past 10 years. He is involved in various aspects of St George’s, and enjoys spending time outdoors whenever possible. Knowing the love and mercy of Jesus provides the foundation for all that he does.

Joe Randall-Carrick

Children's Worker

Joe oversees our children’s ministry as a part of the Raising Generations team. This includes all our children’s groups on Sundays, midweek groups, our schools ministry working with the huge team of volunteers who make that happen week by week. Joe is well placed to do this having had 20+ years’ experience in ministry (volunteer and paid). He is already a part of the church family and has run Cornerstone Kids in St George’s School for the last year. Joe is also a part time Physics teacher at a local secondary school. Joe is married to Jessica, and they have 2 daughters.

 

Koleh Rees

Churchwarden

Koleh was born and raised in Zambia and has lived in England for over 20 years. She moved to Lincolnshire in 2007 when she married James (already was a member of St Georges Church).

Her passion is to know God and to make Him known, to live her life to be all that God created her to be to His Glory and Praise, she loves singing and listening to Christian music.

As a mother to 3 growing girls, Koleh works part time as a dental hygienist/therapist.  Outside of her fulfilling professional life Koleh enjoys the beautiful country side of South Lincolnshire, cycling walking with her family and entertaining!

Louise Rose

Fresh Hope Project Coordinator

Louise oversees the Fresh hope ministry at St Georges church. She is married to Adrian and they have two young children. Louise has previously worked as a Youth project co-ordinator, and as a programme facilitator to reduce reoffending in Prison.

Ben Topham

Associate Rector

Ben joined the team in 2020, supporting Martyn in the day to day running of the church and leading the staff team. He is married to Lenny and they have two children. Ben has a heart to see people who don’t know Jesus turning to him in faith, and seeing people maturing as disciples of Jesus Christ. In his spare time, Ben enjoys the outdoors (fishing, walking, camping) and anything techie (computers and gadgets).

Matt Wild

Raising Generations Pastor

Matt joined St George’s off the back of 18 rewarding years as Director of CROPS, a Peterborough based schools and youth ministry. Prior to this he was Youth Alpha Manager for Alpha UK, based at Holy Trinity Brompton, London. He is passionate about helping young people understand who Jesus is, enabling them to encounter Him and discovering His plan for their lives. 

Matt is married to Esther and they have 2 children. As a family they are owned by an exuberant Golden Retriever called George. Matt loves playing drums, football, forests, holidaying in Cornwall, walking, and catching waves in the sea.

Lorraine Wright

Associate Minister

Lorraine joined the staff team in 2018 and oversees our Alpha outreach.  She worked for 32 years in the IT industry and served as a lay minister for many years before getting ordained in 2014.  She has a heart for seeing people come to know Jesus and growing in their faith.  She enjoys travel, walking her lovely dog Cocoa, and relaxing over a coffee with friends.

Helen Walton

Fresh Hope Caseworker

Helen joined the staff team in 2024 working in the Fresh Hope Ministry.

Helen has had a varied career in publishing and latterly fundraising for the Leprosy Mission. She has worshipped at St Georges for over 30 years and is passionate about telling others about Jesus.

Helen has 3 grown up children and a little dog called Bean.
