Evergreen Prayer Team Requests
In this unprecedented time during the Corona virus pandemic, we are aware of how important in this climate of fear and uncertainty, to not only rally the willing in offering support in practical ways, but to provide an opportunity too for those who wish to reach out beyond themselves to God in prayer for strength and comfort in this trying season.
You do not need to give any personal details at all if you do not wish. Any requests for prayer or thanksgiving will be forwarded to the Evergreen prayer team, who pray every Monday morning.
You can e mail firstname.lastname@example.org or phone the office on 01780 765 900 and make a prayer request. Any details you choose to provide will be kept in strict confidence.
The Foodbank can provide a minimum of three days’ emergency food and support to people in crisis. Food banks work with frontline professionals to identify people in need and issue them with a food bank voucher. These include local agencies such as children’s centres, housing associations, advice charities and mental health teams, who are best placed to assess need.
Once a person is referred, they can bring the voucher to their nearest food bank centre, where it can be exchanged for a parcel containing a minimum of three days’ nutritionally balanced food. Food banks are designed to provide short-term, emergency support with food during a crisis. Their aim is to relieve the immediate pressure of the crisis by providing food, while also providing additional support to help people resolve the crises that they face.
If you or anyone you are supporting needs a Foodbank Voucher please call 07928 820247 to access an voucher code. Opening times: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 1pm-3pm.
Second Helpings, Stamford, aims to reduce food waste by using food gifted from local sources that would otherwise go to landfill. Both our café and shop are run by volunteers on a Pay-as-you-Feel basis, serving the needs of local people from all walks of life regardless of the ability to pay. The Bunker has now moved to the Methodist Church Hall and is co-ordinating opening times with Foodbank opening times, where possible. They are also producing frozen ready meals for distribution. See http://www.secondhelpings.org.uk/ for opening times.
