St George's Church, Stamford

St George’s has a long tradition as a missionary sending church. In an ever-changing world there is still a need for people to go overseas, usually working alongside the indigenous church as a partner in God’s Mission to share the gospel with all people. St George’s supports the following mission partners through prayer, finances and pastoral care.

Gareth Ayling with OMF International

Gareth and his late wife Ruth have been partners since 1991. They have worked in Japan with OMF International for 33 years, latterly at the Guest Home in Tokyo. Ruth died in October 2011 and Gareth is currently in the UK.

Howard & Janet with ACT in Tunisia.

Howard is General Director of ACT, a Tunisian based Christian development agency working among the marginalised and vulnerable. They have previously served in Morocco and London.
They have been our partners since 1984.

Andy & Rosie Sexton with Oasis Global based in the UK.

Andy is Oasis Associate International Director based in Norwich.
Oasis works with children at risk, vulnerable women and girls and against human trafficking. Andy & Rosie have two children Sienna and Mattie and have been our partners since 2006.

James Swynford with the Timothy Program in the USA.

James, married to Anna, has been our partner since 2009. He was our Pastoral Assistant in 2005/6 and was ordained in the Falls Church, Washington, in the USA. The Timothy Program is based at the Falls Church, and trains for a Church-Planting Ministry.

Kisiizi Hospital Uganda

Kisiizi Hospital is a Christian hospital in South-West Uganda serving the needs of a the poor. It is run by the Church of Uganda. It also supports a School of Nursing and a school for children aged 4 to 15 years.
We have supported Kisiizi Hospital since about 1980.

Sam & Vicky Ngorok at St John’s Church Iriiri, Uganda

Sam & Vicky minister in the north of Uganda in the Karamoja region. Theirs is a poor rural area, with few facilities. As a church we have funded the building of a church, vicarage, a bore hole and water pump which serves the area, as well as various relief efforts. St George’s Mission Task Force

  • Recommends mission policy to the PCC, and executes that policy.
  • Recruits, resources and supports individuals for mission service, provides advice and wisdom for the discernment of call, seeks to keep the partner accountable while serving, and supports their debriefing and reflection on completion of service.
  • Disburses monies allocated for mission both from the PCC budget and from individual’s giving.
  • Promotes prayer for mission within the church family.
  • Promotes the work and needs of mission partners and agencies to the church family.
  • Keeps missions as a priority in the Church’s culture, including through teaching and involved activity.
  • Seeks to educate and motivate the Church concerning mission, including the encouragement of interest among small groups, children’s and young people’s groups.
