At St George's we aim to be a church where:

•  Jesus Christ is at the centre
We believe that being a Christian is about knowing Jesus personally. It’s a relationship not a religion. More than that, Jesus’ purpose is that those who know Him should become a new community who share a relationship with Him - and therefore with one another. A healthy church keeps Jesus at the centre. Then it can be a place where we can help others to come to know Him and where we can grow together in knowing and serving Him.

•  The Bible is our guide
We believe that the only way we can know about God is through what He has chosen to show us. Supremely He has revealed Himself to us in Jesus. The Bible is His record of that revelation. It is a wonderful and fascinating book. We believe that it is God’s map for us - first to help us to find Him and then to find our way through life.

•  People matter
We believe that the bible shows us Jesus’ amazing love and concern for every person. People matter to Him, therefore they matter to us. We seek to value every person as a unique creation of God - loved by Him and having their own special place in the Christian community.
